Summary

Advanced Grief is designed for professionals and individuals seeking to deepen their expertise in grief education and support. Building upon foundational knowledge presented in the Grief Support Specialist Certificate, this 12-hour, fully asynchronous and online course provides a uniquely designed interactive and experiential educational experience. While it is ideal for those who have already completed the Grief Support Specialist Certificate, the course is structured to be accessible and valuable as an experience for learners with a strong background in grief work. Drawing from a multitude of resources, the course will provide learners with a thorough understanding of specific grief concepts and theories, while also enhancing and building skills to be able to apply grief support in personal and professional lives.

How You Will Learn

Advanced Grief is fully asynchronous, with weekly deadlines for discussion assignments, but no set meeting times, allowing participants to work at their own pace within each week. There is ample time to reflect on course content and to integrate learning through discussion assignments, all within a supportive framework designed to keep participants on track and maximize the value of the educational experience. A summative quiz of material, with full access to notes, will also allow participants a chance to demonstrate understanding of materials and to solidify knowledge gained from the course.
